How To Observe Ash Wednesday Catholic?

On the Wednesday before Ash Wednesday, followers of both Catholicism and Protestantism will meet to attend mass. While there, they will listen to a reading from the bible and pray together. During the mass, there will be a lengthy time of silence during which participants will be urged to meditate on their own shortcomings and pray to God for forgiveness.
