When Ratanapakdee was out strolling in the Anza Vista neighborhood of San Francisco on the morning of January 28, Antoine Watson, then 19 years old, raced across the street and shoved him to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness. As Ratanapakdee fell, his head collided with the pavement. He passed away immediately after being admitted to the hospital.
